About.
My name is Alyssa Carter, I'm a registered psychologist dedicated to supporting individuals on their educational journey. My career began with six fulfilling years as a school psychologist, where I had the privilege of working across both primary and high schools. During this time, I developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges students face and the benefit of accurate assessment to facilitate understanding oneself and receiving accurate diagnosis (when relevant). My role afforded me the opportunity to hone my skills of assessment, including providing assessment for the purpose of School Curriculum Standards Authority applications for Special Provisions.
In 2023, I took a significant step forward in my professional journey by establishing my private practice. This transition allowed me to expand my services and reach a broader clientele while maintaining the personalised care and attention that are central to my approach. I specialise in conducting educational assessments, where I focus on evaluating various aspects of cognitive ability, identifying specific learning disorders, and investigating attentional difficulties. My goal is to provide comprehensive assessments that empower individuals with valuable insights and pave the way for targeted interventions and support strategies tailored to their unique needs.
